Bristile can reroof your home in as little as 2 days depending on the size of your roof and
the work involved. There are 10 steps to the reroofing process
The existing roof timbers are inspected to ensure the battens are sound and battens replaced if necessary.
Safety is a priority. Before commencing any work, guard rail is installed and a ladder is raised and fitted to the roof .The tilers can now access the roof.
All the old roof tiles or metal roof sheets are removed.
The sarking is carefully unrolled across the roof, starting at the bottom of the rafter.
New battens are nailed to the rafters with a high pressure nail gun.
The new roof tiles are lifted up to the roof using an elevator belt.
Tiles are laid sequentially up the roof from the gutter line. Fixing clips, or nails are used to secure the roof tiles to the roof.
All hip and ridge lines are covered with ridge fittings.
Pointing is a flexible material that covers the mortar and comes in a colour that matches the roof tile. It acts as a mechanical fastener, keeping the ridge in place. It is also used to finish the tiles at the gable or edge of the roof.
Guard rail is removed and the site cleaned up with all roof rubbish and debris placed in bins or designated rubbish area.
